Each home nation has its own page. On that page, dependent and independent students are separate paths, and postgraduate study is included only where an official page states it. Every pound amount names the page it came from. Where a 2026 to 2027 amount was not on the pages we read, the page says so instead of guessing.
EnglandUse this page if England is your home nation: where you normally live, not simply where you study. Amounts below are for the 2026 to 2027 academic year and only where an official page stated them. Student Finance England assesses your own application.
ScotlandUse this page if Scotland is your home nation. SAAS decides young student, independent student, care-experienced and estranged status. This page does not copy an older rates table forward.
WalesUse this page if Wales is your home nation, including if you study elsewhere in the UK. Figures are for students who started on or after 1 September 2018, for the 2026 to 2027 academic year, and only where Student Finance Wales printed them. The living-cost tables are described on that page as illustrative. Your notification of entitlement is the figure that applies to you.
Northern IrelandUse this page if Northern Ireland is your home nation. nidirect publishes the 2026-27 loan rates below for Student Finance NI. The income-assessment page is a general guide and says it does not cover every case. Your local Student Finance NI office assesses the application.
This is general information, not a personal entitlement and not personal financial advice. Repayment plans and thresholds stay on student loans.
